Transgender Woman Sues Alaska For Proper Driver’s License

The ACLU has filed suit against the state of Alaska, alleging it denied a transgender woman her proper driver’s license. The woman, identified as K.L., has been living as a woman for nearly two years and is identified as a woman on her passport and other documents. The ACLU claims that it’s unconstitutional for the state to require her to disclose a major medical operation like sexual reassignment surgery in order to obtain a license that accurately reflects her identity.
