New York Sen. Mark Grisanti (R) has been targeted by the National Organization for Marriage as a “traitor” for supporting marriage equality. In an interview with WMHT TV, he explains that he is not a sell-out and he did not trade his vote for anything from Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), as critics have suggested. For Grisanti, it was a matter of recognizing that “people do have rights,” and “you have to separate it between church and state, and that’s basically what I did.” Watch it:
