Washington state Senator Ed Murray says that New York’s successful passage of marriage equality may build momentum for the state to pass a same-sex marriage bill in 2012. Murray and another openly-gay lawmaker, State Representative Jaime Pedersen, “are talking with leaders in the gay and lesbian community about whether to run what he terms a ‘marriage equality’ bill next January.”
