Republican Senators Who Voted For Marriage In New York Experience ‘Windfall’ Fundraising | Conservative groups have pledged to defeat four Republican lawmakers who voted in favor of New York’s same-sex marriage law, but the state senators are already raising large sums of money from supporters of the legislation. Tonight, a fundraiser in Manhattan is expected to raise “about $1.25 million” for Sens. Mark Grisanti, James Alesi, Stephen Saland, and Roy McDonald — “a windfall by Albany standards.” “In the first six months of this year, state senators raised an average of $103,000 apiece, according to the New York Public Interest Research Group.”
