“Forty-one of the 53 Commonwealth countries – including Uganda, Zimbabwe and Ghana – still criminalize gay sex and HIV campaigners say such laws are seriously hampering safe sex initiatives,” Pink News reports. The Commonwealth heads of government are scheduled to meet in Australia next week, where they are expected to ask the countries to “scrap anti-gay laws.” Advocates have started a petition to officially add the issue to the agenda.
