New Oscar Producer Has Own Anti-Gay Controversy

After Brett Ratner stepped down from producing the Oscars after making homophobic comments, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Brian Grazer would replace him. Unfortunately, Grazer has his own baggage of promoting anti-gay language. He produced this year’s Vince Vaughn/Kevin James comedy, The Dilemma, which featured a joke using “gay” as a pejorative. GLAAD spoke out about how insensitive (and unnecessary) the joke was when it appeared in the film’s trailer, but it was not cut from the film.
