Poll: Majority Of Republicans Support Federal Employment Protections For LGBT Americans

The majority of “Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Catholics, Protestants, weekly churchgoers, and even born again Christians” support extending federal employment protections to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans, a new Human Rights Campaign (HRC) poll finds. Seventy-seven percent of responds support the protections, including “70 percent of self-identified Republicans and 67 percent of conservatives support anti-discrimination laws.” A majority also falsely believe that such a law already exists.
