Ontario Becomes First Canadian Province To Protect Transgender People | As predicted, Ontario’s legislature passed an amendment to the province’s Human Rights Code adding “gender identity” and “gender expression” protections, making it the first in the country to do so. Remarkably, the change passed unanimously, demonstrating a unified commitment to protecting transgender people from discrimination in employment, housing, and health services.
