Ontario Becomes First Canadian Province To Protect Transgender People | As predicted, Ontario’s legislature passed an amendment to the province’s Human Rights Code adding “gender identity” and “gender expression” protections, making it the first in the country to do so. Just last week, Ontario also passed a significant anti-bullying bill that guaranteed students in all schools the right to form gay-straight alliances.
