Congress Will Approve Anti-Bullying Funding This Week

The House of Representatives is expected to pass a bill this week that would give states funding for anti-bullying programs. The money would come out of an existing program that promotes safety in schools, but with added language that specifies the money should go toward prevention efforts — specifically for “cyberbullying prevention and gang prevention programs.” The bill is enjoying some bipartisan support– House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX) has joined six Democrats in pushing the measure.
