POLL: New York City Residents Would Vote For A Gay Mayoral Candidate

A new poll of New York City residents finds that 84 percent of voters would have no problem supporting a mayoral candidate who is openly gay, while only 10 percent would be less likely to vote for such a candidate. This is good news for City Council President Christine Quinn (D), who is by far the front-runner to succeed Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I). Quinn is openly gay and married her partner in May.
