"REPORT: Anti-LGBT Bullying Extensive In Scottish Schools"

A new report finds that 69 percent of LGBT youth in Scotland experience homophobic or biphobic bullying in school. In addition, 77 percent of trans youth experienced bullying for their perceived identity, enough so that 42 percent left education as a result of that bullying. A third of respondents indicated that the discrimination they experienced in school negatively impacted their employment opportunities. GLSEN recently found that in the United States, 82 percent of LGBT students encounter verbal harassment.
