For the second year in a row, the Serbian interior minister has banned Belgrade’s Pride parade “for the sake of citizens’ safety.” The celebration was threatened by ultra-nationalists and the Serbian Orthodox Church, with patriarch Irinej calling it a “parade of shame” that would cast a “moral shadow.” Prime Minister/Police Chief Ivica Dacic concluded that Serbia “does not need clashes and victims.”
