Illinois Lawmaker Compares Marriage Equality To Bestiality | The Windy City Times reports that Illinois state Rep. John Cabello (R), a recent appointee, told a Tea Party forum earlier this month that he is “dead-set opposed to civil unions” because they could open the door “to other things.” Civil unions took effect in the state last summer, leading Cabello, to ask, “Does this now say that somebody can get married to their dog?” A video of the forum was posted on Facebook, but has since been set to private following media interest.
