REPORT: Majority Of Fortune 500 Companies Protect Trans Employees | The Human Rights Campaign has released this year’s Corporate Equality Index, and for the first time ever, a majority of Fortune 500 companies (57 percent) have nondiscrimination protections that include gender identity. In addition, 42 percent of the 688 companies that participate in the study now offer trans-inclusive health coverage for their employees. A record 252 companies achieved the top rating of 100 percent, and a record 74 businesses and law firms publicly supported pro-equality legislation during this past year, prompting HRC to declare a “new normal” for best business practices.
