Arizona School Punishes Students With Anti-Gay Humiliation

An Arizona school district punished two male students who were fighting by forcing them to hold hands for 15 minutes in front of their classmates. As they hid their faces from cameras, students teased them and asked, “Are you gay?” The district stated that it does not approve of Principal Tim Richard’s unique discipline idea, noting that it encourages bullying and reinforces anti-gay stigma.
