Report Shows Financial Health Of LGBT Organizations Is Improving

A new report from the Movement Advancement Project shows a marked improvement in 2011 for the financial health of organizations that advocate for LGBT equality. The movement experienced a 17 percent increase in revenue from 2010 to 2011, benefits of belt-tightening and increased efficiency. After years of decline, the number of individual donors increased in 2011, allowing 80 percent of budgets to go directly to programs and services with only 12 percent spent on fundraising efforts.
