"POLL: 60 Percent Support Marriage Equality In New Jersey"

New Jersey will probably be one of the next states to legally recognize same-sex marriages and its denizens are quite ready for it. A new Quinnipiac poll finds that 60 percent of New Jersey voters support marriage equality, while only 31 percent are opposed. This is a slight dip from the 64 percent reported in March, but still very strong support. Republicans remain opposed 49-39.

Despite having vetoed marriage equality, the news isn’t bad for Gov. Chris Christie, who has a 68 percent job approval rating and is trouncing his Democratic opponent, state Sen. Barbara Buono, by a wide 61-29 margin.
