Thursday morning, Army Private and Wikileaks leaker Chelsea (formerly Bradley) Manning came out as transgender, asking that the press and everyone else refer to her as female. The immediate conservative reaction ranged from mockery to derision, with one prominent conservative — Fox News’ Erick Erickson — referring to Manning’s gender identity as a “mental health issue.” Here’s seven examples that get the conservative zeitgeist across:
