"The Ex-Gay Agenda Revealed: ‘The End Of Homosexuality’"
Advocates of ex-gay therapy often claim they simply want to offer individuals the “choice” if they have “unwanted same-sex attractions,” but the latest newsletter from a prominent ex-gay organization reveals the true motive. The International Healing Foundation, an ex-gay clinic led by disavowed therapist Richard Cohen and organizer of the failed “Ex-Gay Pride Month” Christopher Doyle, is asking for money so they continue their work toward “the end of homosexuality”:
Announcing THE END OF HOMOSEXUALITY Want to Know How?
Want to be part of an exciting revolution? Want to end homosexuality and prevent bullying? Want to protect your children and grandchildren?
Everyday our kids are being inundated with false information about homosexuality-born that way and cannot change. This is both scientifically and scripturally untrue.
It’s not a surprising revelation so much as it’s surprising to see it said so candidly. It follows from the beliefs that homosexuality is bad for society and can be rectified by therapy that it would thus be possible to rid the whole world of homosexuality. And though it’s the fringe ex-gay group PFOX directly promoting the International Healing Foundation’s rhetoric, ex-gay therapy is of course defended by the more mainstream conservative christian organizations like the Family Research Council, Focus on the Family, and even the National Organization for Marriage of late. It’s the latest evidence that all of these groups are actively working against the lives of LGBT people, despite what rhetoric they might use about “religious liberty.”
