- The Washington Post highlights the story of Landon Wilson, who was kicked out of the Navy for being transgender, noting that there are no medical experts who support the Pentagon’s reasoning for continuing such discrimination.

- A Pennsylvania lawmaker will soon introduce a series of reforms to protect the transgender community.

- The Milwaukee County Board voted 12-6 to approve nondiscrimination protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

- The South Carolina Senate may reverse a House budget proposal that cut funding to two public universities because of their LGBT-inclusive curriculum.

- The New York state legislature might consider a bill that would prohibit condoms from being used as evidence against prostitution suspects.

- New York City has settled a suit by a gay man who was falsely arrested for prostitution in a Lower East Side porn shop.

- The Louisville Metro Council has blocked an attempt to fund the Boy Scouts of America because the group’s anti-gay discrimination violates the city’s nondiscrimination ordinance.

- A Tennessee wedding venue, Mint Springs Farm, has refused to allow two Iraq War veterans to hold their ceremony there.

- Cedarville University, in an apparent attempt to be a more conservative campus, has confiscated issues and blocked publication of a student publication, The Ventriloquist, which has notably printed many articles about the challenges of being gay on that campus.

- A lesbian woman from Uganda has been granted asylum through 2019 in the United Kingdom.

- A 52-year-old transgender woman describes how difficult it has been to find employment since transitioning.

- One Los Angeles man explains why “no one should be slut-shamed out of taking PrEP,” which helps prevent the spread of HIV.

- Despite receiving an overwhelming outpouring of support, Orange is the New Black‘s Laverne Cox seems to have been snubbed by the Time 100 list.
