Lacking in Prosal Clarity

What’s the deal with throwing around “moral” as a meaningless intensifier? Is drawing a false “moral equivalence” different in some way from a regular false equivalence? Is there a difference between being “obscene” and being “morally obscene”? Suppose I want clarity on the point that this is bad writing — is that different from calling for “moral clarity” on the point?
