"Money Where Your Eyeballs Are"
Something I should mention with regard to journalistic pay-scales and the perennial blogtime fun of bashing media institutions (Washington Post op-ed page, for example) we don’t approve of, is that if people want to see good media happen they ought to consider opening their wallets to support good media. Jim Fallows says he always gives money to the public radio stations where he lives and I’ve done that the past few years in DC.
Beyond public radio, the ThinkProgress team is, of course, supported by donations. Or you could give to The American Prospect or Mother Jones or The Washington Monthly or something else you like. The Internet has made it much, much cheaper and easier to disseminate content on a non-commercial basis but actually paying the people to do the work still costs money.
