Why Conservatives Can’t Believe Bush Is Unpopular

The popular right-wing blog Ankle Biting Pundits has a post claiming the new AP poll — which found Bush’s approval rating at 42 percent — is inaccurate. Here is one piece of the “evidence”:

Question D14 is curious, too. 14% of respondents make less that $15,000 per year?

Actually, this is exactly what you’d expect from a poll that reflected an accurate cross-section of the American public. In 2003, according to the Census Bureau, 20 percent of households earned $17, 984 or less.

This is precisely the problem with many conservatives. They can’t understand why Bush is unpopular, because they don’t understand how many people are struggling.
