Landrieu plays hardball.

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) has threatened to hold all of President Bush’s executive-branch nominees hostage until the administration agrees to fully fund levee construction, flood control, and coastal restoration efforts. After Katrina, Bush pledged to build the levees “higher and better,” but officials said last week “there may not be enough money to fully protect the entire region.”
