Yesterday on Fox’s Your World With Neil Cavuto, guest Jackie Mason lashed out at people who criticized Mel Gibson for his anti-semitic tirade. Mason said all Gibson’s critics were “very sick, they’re getting a vicious, sick, perverted, sadistic thrill out of this whole thing.” Mason added that critics were just using Gibson’s anti-semtic remarks as an excuse because “they have always been envious and bitter and jealous of a guy who makes such a huge success.” Watch it:
CAVUTO: Well, Jackie Mason, legendary comic. And did you know he became a rabbi as a young man? Well, believe it or not, he says everyone is taking Mel’s drunken rants against jews way too seriously. Exactly why is Jackie so forgiving? Why are you so forgiving?
MASON: I’ll be honest with you; it’s not that I’m so forgiving. It’s that all these people are very sick; they’re getting a vicious, sick, perverted, sadistic thrill out of this whole thing. Look at the glee in them, look at the happiness about catching him — because they’re basically failures; they never amounted to anything. There are actors struggling to make a living and they have always been envious and bitter and jealous of a guy who makes such a huge success. So now when the guys been a great crusader against anti-semitism. They found an excuse. It’s all an excuse, a rationalization of — a phony excuse to bury this guy because they’re enjoying it with such a sick, perverted pleasure.
