nettrends.png“John McCain’s Presidential campaign has launched a neat little gimmick on his campaign website urging folks to sign-up, and track, their picks through the NCAA’s Championship Tournament known as March Madness.” CNN writes it up and can’t resist using the m-word: “Many consider him to be a political maverick, but when it comes to making his college basketball picks, Arizona Sen. John McCain bets on the safe side. The GOP presidential candidate has picked the four number one teams — Kansas, Florida, Ohio State, and North Carolina — to reach the final four, according to a bracket posted on the senator’s presidential campaign website.”

UPDATE:Gambling on amateur athletics is wrong.” — McCain, in a statement introducing legislation in May 2003 to ban gambling on amateur sports.
