Plans have been scrapped to “erect a nine-foot-tall…statuary tribute” to
Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. According to the Anchorage Daily News, “Ted fans decided that…recently vocal enemies of his successful delivery of federal largesse to Alaska might use the project to disparage him.” Last week, Stevens revealed that he had been asked by the FBI “to preserve records as part of a widening investigation into Alaskan political corruption.”
