Consumer confidence falls to 16-year low.

U.S. consumer confidence this month “to its lowest in 16 years as high inflation continued to sap confidence and pushed expectations for the future to a record low.” The index measured consumers’ moods at 50.4 in June, lower than Wall Street economists’ expectations and less than half of what it was last July.
