After rampant speculation that he would be left off the roster of speakers at the GOP convention, Vice President Cheney’s office has confirmed that Cheney will indeed attend and speak. Cheney’s office has released the following statement:
The Vice President looks forward to participating in the Republican National Convention and continuing to work for the election of Senator McCain and other Republican candidates in the coming months.
Update
The AP reports that Cheney “plans to speak on the first night of the convention in St. Paul, Minn., the same Monday night that President Bush will speak.”
