Killefer withdraws her nomination as Obama’s ‘chief performance officer.’

On the heels of tax controversies involving Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and HHS Secretary-nominee Tom Daschle, Nancy Killefer, who was President Obama’s choice to be the administration’s ‘chief performance officer,” has withdrawn her nomination. Though Killefer “will detail her reason for pulling out later” today, the AP notes that “in 2005 the District of Columbia government had filed a more than $900 tax lien on her home for failure to pay unemployment compensation tax on household help.”
