Yesterday was the first day of the confirmation hearings for Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s nomination to the Supreme Court. The day consisted of opening statements by Sotomayor and by each member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, but no actual questioning. Glenn Beck apparently wasn’t paying much attention. “As our country burns to the ground,” bellowed Beck on Fox News yesterday, “this is the questioning,” as he played clips of senators praising Sotomayor.
