Barnicle: People now think Massachusetts is ‘part of America’ because of Brown’s election.

Last month, Rush Limbaugh fill-in Mark Steyn declared that San Francisco and Massachusetts were “not typical parts of the United States,” echoing Sarah Palin’s previous assertion that conservative-leaning areas of America are “the real America” and the “pro-America areas of this great nation.” On MSNBC today, Massachusetts native Mike Barnicle, perhaps jokingly, piled on to these sentiments, setting up a question for Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) by saying that “prior to Tuesday, a lot people didn’t think Massachusetts was part of America but now they do because of the vote” in favor of Republican Senator-elect Scott Brown.
