"Fox analyst Rove calls Fox hosts ‘sad’ for asking him about month-old attempted citizen’s arrest."

In early April, after Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans approached Karl Rove at a book signing event in Beverly Hills and told him she wanted to make a citizen’s arrest, Rove tried to downplay the protest, telling Fox News, “I wish there wasn’t so much attention paid to it.” When he was asked about the incident on Fox and Friends yesterday, Rove — a paid Fox News contributor — lashed out at the Fox News show’s hosts, calling them “sad” for “recycling stuff that happened three to four weeks ago”:

“This is sad, you people are recycling stuff that happened three to four weeks ago. Please, this is a small blemish on what was otherwise a great trip,” intoned Rove, even though one of the trio of co-hosts suggested Rove had been bullied by the protesters.

“It was a blemish!” he continued, pointing out that he had addressed crowds of 350 to 500 in Fresno, Modesto and Northern California without incident on the same swing to promote his new autobiography.

“Then five nuts come – please don’t paint this as much a sign of anything…These are sort of sad and pathetic people… Can you imagine being some kind of nut wandering around with handcuffs, thinking you’ve go the right to arrest anybody you want? That’s lunacy. Let’s not give them any more attention.”

Watch it:

“Karl, in our defense, we haven’t had you on the show because you’ve been on your book tour so we haven’t had a chance to talk to you about this,” said co-host Alisyn Camerota.
