Republican Rep: Obama ‘has helped jump start a new Ottoman Empire’ | Speaking on the House floor Friday afternoon, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) claimed President Obama’s foreign policy in the Middle East was “a massive beginning of a new Ottoman Empire that [he] can take great credit for.” Gohmert continued, “This president is trying to buy affection from people who are bullies, who are radical Islamists, who want to destroy us.” The Texas Republican has a history of Islamophobic behavior.
