Your analogy is triply false. First, I didn’t “steal” this cartoon — I got it FROM the web! Second, I didn’t reprint “all” of this guy’s cartoons. Third, the phrase “published them on their own” implies I was claiming his work as my own, which I obviously wasn’t. You’ll need to come up with better criticisms.
As a relevant aside, Amazon put the entire introduction to my book on the Web, as well as other material and in fact they scanned the ENTIRE book into their system so that it is now searchable. This is the internet era.
