Joe,
Even for the rational scientist in me this one cartoon speaks more than tens of 1000′s of wonky words.
I think Climate Progress would benefit from a daily cartoon. We are up against the well-funded, masters of the minute message. Our cartoons Vs. Clean Coal and Mobil. They wouldn’t stand a chance.

[JR: I have been pursuing a cartoonist for a while. Perhaps I should open up a competition....]
It appears the CBO is giving some discouraging news on the taxes in the health insurance reform and energy taxation. Now is the worst time to raise taxes.
[JR: Good thing the climate bill doesn't raise taxes, then!]
I have to say, Nancy, that’s just disgusting despite their explanation of their sponsorship. Along with other forms of influence, it seems that high profile events like these garner the attention on the big issues. So I’d like to know who else is going to show up at this rally? Online petitions and blogs are all fine & good, but maybe they’re not enough. I can’t be in WV on Labor Day, but surely there are some brave, rational people with signs who can form a group? I’d like to see “No Accelerated Climate Change for $$”, and Don’t be Duped:
Do Climateprogress.org. Or something like that :-)

Joe, It was good to see you mentioned in the Boston Globe this morning:

Verizon Wireless is sponsoring a pro-coal, anti-environment rally on Labor Day.
I am attaching a protest letter “Tell Verizon Wireless: Get out of bed with anti-environment extremists” you can sign and send to the president of Verizon Wireless.
