‘Correcting The Record On The 1967 Lines’ | Sens. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Joe Lieberman (I-CT) introduced a resolution last week calling an Israeli return to 1967 lines “contrary to United States policy and national security.” As of today, 29 additional senators have co-sponsored the resolution, even though no one is calling on Israel to return to the 1967 lines. As President Obama said last month, the United States “believe[s] the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps.” Middle East Progress today sorts out all the confusion regarding Israel and the 1967 lines.
