Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei was released on Wednesday after spending almost three months in prison. Held on tax evasion charges that his family disputes, Weiwei’s arrest sparked international criticism. He could still face the same charges and is limited to his home city of Beijing, according to an expert cited by ABC News. Weiwei, an outspoken critic of China’s ruling Communist Party, told reporters he couldn’t speak about the case as a condition of his release.
