Bowing to requests from the Israeli government and other campaigners, Apple announced today that it will discontinue the distribution of a Palestinian-made iPhone app promoting a third intifada (Arabic for uprising) by Palestinians against Israel. Apple spokesman Tom Neumayr said the app was removed “because it violates the developer guidelines by being offensive to large groups of people.”
