Reuters reports that captive U.S. hikers Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal are headed out of Iran. The pair, both 29, were captured by Iran in the area of the Iran-Iraq border two years ago, accused of being American spies, and sentenced to eight years in prison earlier this year. Today, the Swiss ambassador to Iran picked up the men from Iran’s notorious Evin prison and took them to a plane to fly to Oman, and then home to the United States. According to reports, Oman paid the total $1 million bail for the two hikers. Oman also helped arrange for the release of their companion, Sarah Shourd, last year.
