U.N. Says 400 Syrians Killed Since Arab League Monitors Arrived

The United Nations political chief B. Lynn Pascoe said today that an estimated 400 people have died in the uprising against the Syrian regime after Arab League monitors arrived in the country. U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice said on Twitter this afternoon that “at least two Arab League monitors were roughed up today” and the organization “has released a statement blaming pro-regime elements.”
