A new poll released by Smith Research finds that 62 percent of Israelis support a two-state solution. What’s more, “58% of Israelis would prefer to see Israel remain as a Jewish, democratic state through fixed state borders along the route of the West Bank security barrier.” And nearly 80 percent are “concerned about the possibility that Israel will become a bi-national state.” The number of Israelis who support a two state solution is consistent with past surveys. In 2009, 64 percent of the Israeli population supported a two-state solution, according to the Israeli paper Haaretz.
