Cantor: Stop ‘Whining’ and ‘Grumbling’ And Vote For Boehner’s Plan

This morning, the Republican chief of obstinacy Majority Leader Eric Cantor (VA) issued a blunt mandate to the Republican Conference: Stop “grumbling” and “whining” and vote for Speaker John Boehner’s (R-OH) debt ceiling plan. “The debt limit vote sucks,” Cantor said, but rather than risking default or passing Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-NV) plan, Republicans should “call the president’s bluff” by passing Boehner’s plan. Unfortunately for Cantor, his message does not seem to be carrying any weight. According to the Republican Study Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (OH), “there are not 218 Republicans in support” of the plan.
