One of the most popular demands of the 99 Percent Movement that has been showing up at rallies and occupies nationwide is to reduce the influence of corporate special interests on the political system.
Last night, television personality Cenk Uygur announced the creation of a new Political Action Committee (PAC), Wolf PAC, that would work to organize Americans in 50 states to push for their states to ratify an amendment to the Constitution to end corporate personhood, limit campaign contributions to $100, and publicly finance elections. Uygur called on Americans to “occupy the states” to call for a constitutional convention to get this accomplished. Watch him at Occupy Wall Street last night:
Wolf PAC is currently seeking donations to build its organizing infrastructure. Wolf PAC tells ThinkProgress that it has “registered nearly 100 volunteers per hour in the first 12 hours.”
