Joe Walsh Flees From Constituents, Avoids Meeting With The 99 Percent | 99 Percenters, including an unemployed resident who is relying on getting Medicare benefits that the congressman has been trying to cut with his support for the Ryan plan, had been encamped in Rep. Joe Walsh’s (R-IL) office since noon, hoping to talk to him about how to grow jobs and battle inequality. Yet despite repeated insistence that he would meet with them around 3 PM, Walsh decided to flee from the protesters around 3:20 instead, avoiding meeting with them altogether. Although his staff insisted that he had to make votes, they were fully aware of this when they suggested he would meet with them at 3. Walsh took off without saying a word.
