The mass exodus of Tucker Carlson’s advertisers continues

Fox News is blaming "far left activist groups" for the backlash over Carlson saying immigrants make America "dirtier."

Twenty-six companies have announced they will no longer be advertising during Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show after he claimed immigrants make America “dirtier” last week.

In response to the initial loss of advertisers, Carlson defended his comments on Monday night’s show, claiming that a “relatively tiny number of people” were trying to silence him. This didn’t seem to sit well with his remaining sponsors, as more than a dozen companies announced Tuesday that they will no longer advertise on Tucker Carlson Tonight.

ThinkProgress reached out to numerous companies that were still advertising during Tucker Carlson Tonight — including Ford, Honda, Cadillac, Infiniti, Cascade WeatherTech, and Sandals Resorts — but none of those businesses would provide official comment on their ongoing support of Carlson’s show on Tuesday.

Here are the companies that have stopped advertising on Tucker Carlson Tonight thus far.

“We cannot and will not allow voices like Tucker Carlson to be censored by agenda-driven intimidation efforts from the likes of Moveon.org, Media Matters and Sleeping Giants. Attempts were made last month to bully and terrorize Tucker and his family at their home. He is now once again being threatened via Twitter by far left activist groups with deeply political motives. While we do not advocate boycotts, these same groups never target other broadcasters and operate under a grossly hypocritical double standard given their intolerance to all opposing points of view.”

ThinkProgress’ Alan Pyke has explained why the claims about attempts “to bully and terrorize Tucker and his family at their home” are dubious at best.

This has been updated with the advertisers that dropped Carlson on Wednesday and Thursday.
