Brendan Nyhan updates his post about Barack Obama’s abortion ad, responding to critics including myself. He says he would be satisfied if the ad said McCain “would try to make abortion illegal” or “wants to make abortion illegal” rather than “will make abortion illegal.” He’s right — it would be more accurate to note McCain’s intention and desire to ban abortions rather than to assert that he’ll succeed.
