McCain: I’m Divorced From The Day-to-Day Challenges People Have

John McCain says his long service in Washington leaves him out of touch with “the day-to-day challenges people have”:

That’s refreshingly honest, I’d say. Maybe if McCain hadn’t been in the Senate so long and had more recent experience doing stuff like working in state government, teaching part time, doing some community organizing, etc., then he wouldn’t have this problem.

UPDATE: Maybe it’s all this being divorced from the struggle in people’s lives that makes McCain not realize that $50 an hour is a really high wage.
