CAP’s Ed Paisley explains what’s going on in convenient video form:
I had this idea the other day that what think tanks really need to do is produce videos where good-looking actors read scripts written for them by the policy experts. People get annoyed when celebrities just mouth off on the big issues of the day, but I think the public would be much more amenable to something pitched specifically as acting. Imagine CAP on the Paulson Plan starring George Clooney as Ed Paisley. Megan Fox says she wants to be taken more seriously and starring in some public policy videos would probably be a better way of achieving that goal than doing GQ features and the cover of Maxim.
