Historical Tables for the Microsoft-less

In the spirit of the Obama administration’s new anti-trust proposals, I took it upon myself to visit the OMB’s site and take their table of receipts, outlays, and surpluses as a percent of GDP (1930-2014) document and convert it out of Microsoft Excel and into a Google Spreadsheet everyone can read.

It’s a small thing, but I do think it’s true that one thing the government could be doing to reduce monopoly power that doesn’t involve the heavy hand of lawsuits would be to push back against Microsoft’s proprietary standards. You could put data like this up on the web as OpenOffice documents, for example.
